Fireproof Safe
One of the best places to keep some important documents is in a Fireproof Safe at your home as this location will be accessible at all times by you versus keeping them in a Safe Deposit Box at your bank. In some instances such as non-business hours or in the event of the death of one of the Safe Deposit Box owners the bank may not allow anyone else to access the contents of the bank until proof is provided such as a Power of Attorney (see Organize, Part 4, Power of Attorney!).
Things that I plan to store in our Fireproof Safe include: Wills, Minnesota Health Directive, list of passwords for financial accounts and social media, insurance policies, special mementos of the family and other documents that do not need to be in the Safe Deposit Box at our bank.
You can look online and find Fireproof Safes at Amazon, Walmart and other locations with various sizes and prices.
Action Step: Get organized and store those things that will give you peace of mind.
