Alternative Investing for Minnesota Residents

SaverNotes was founded in 2013 on the premise of finding a better way for Minnesota investors to grow their money in this volatile market. Since investing is such a personal decision, our experts can help tailor a strategy based on your individual goals, financial objectives, and tolerance for risk. Our notes provide a higher fixed rate of return and interest paid quarterly compared to equities, government bonds, or bank CDs. Maturity dates rates range from one to ten years, offering you the flexibility to invest based on your short-or long-term investment plan. You can make the minimum investment or opt for a larger amount in a self-directed IRA. It’s easy, efficient, and most important, profitable. Visit our FAQ's page for more information.

Why Choose SaverNotes?

SaverNotes offers investors an easy, yet effective way to grow money at a higher rate of return without risky stocks, low-interest bank CDs, or volatile bonds. Some of the benefits of choosing fixed income notes include:

  • Above market fixed rate of return

  • Flexible terms of two, three, or five years

  • Interest rates starting at 3%, 4%, or 6% respectively and paid out quarterly

  • An additional interest rate “kicker” equal to 10% of SaverNotes profits prorated to the account and paid once per year

How it works

SaverNotes offers renewable unsecured subordinated note which is a promise by us to pay the principal and interest on the note to the holder – that’s you. By purchasing a note, you are lending money to us. The note represents our obligation to repay your loan with interest.

When the note matures, you can elect repayment of the note and your investment will be returned to you along with any accrued but unpaid interest. However, if neither you nor SaverNotes elect repayment at maturity, the note automatically renews for another term and continues to earn interest at the current applicable rate. SaverNotes is issuing the notes as a new financing.

SaverNotes is only available to residents of the state of Minnesota.

About the founder

A forty-year veteran of the commercial mortgage industry, Dave Rasmussen, sought to create a better way for his clients to invest and grow their money while tempering the risk associated with traditional investing. His extensive career in real estate, underwriting, and finance provided the chassis for the SaverNotes, giving Dave a multi-dimensional perspective and allowing his practice to evolve beyond commercial mortgages. His impressive repertoire includes construction loans, construction loans with mini-perms, permanent loans, mezzanine debt, bridge financing, joint ventures, medical and industrial offices, and more.

Analytical to his core, Dave thrives on data and the complexity of a deal. He can slice and dice transactions based on property types, capital structures and sources, and determine all the metrics used to create the deal. Over the years, he’s developed a database that now exceeds $100 billion in transactions. It’s no surprise he was named 2021 Mortgage Broker/Banker of the Year.

Dave holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
